The festival where we got Chuck (see post below) was in Little Italy. I don't know what it was called so if someone knows please enlighten me. Basically it was a glorified street fair. And by glorified I mean add 10 more big fat sausage on a bun sold by greasy guys carts and you're there.
Ridiculously crowded. We crawled through at a snails pace. Luckily we only got stuck behind smokers blowing smoke in our faces 11 times. No biggie.
Yum Yum. 3 please. But wait is this an Italian food....? Does the Olive Garden have Fried Oreo's on their menu?
Now for sure I know that Italians eat lots of fried Twinkies. I am part Italian myself and I just knew I felt a kinship with them immediately. So of course I ate 4. And just when I was seriously wondering how this would affect my cholesterol levels I read the sign. Phew, no cholesterol. But then again I have been tasting copper for the past few days....
3 fried oreo's, 4 fried Twinkies* and one goldfish (live not fried)later we were home. We had fun enjoying the city and people watching. Despite what I say about the smoke and crowds I do love events in the city. They are prime people watching time. I have to say my favorite thing to watch that day was the people who actually bought the nasty sausage on a bun sandwiches trying to take that first bite.....priceless.
*For the 3 people who read my blog, this side note is not for you. But just in case there is a 4th person out there who reads this and doesn't know me, please know this. I DID NOT buy the above items. I was joking. I like to joke and joking is fun, so please don't take what I say to heart and please don't get offended by my hilarity.

I was thinking.."Surely she didn't really eat those things!!" It just didn't sound right! Wheew. So glad I read to the end.
Kass...you had me going. And laughing too. Love you.
So fun to see your blog (I got to you through Jessie)! I think it's very cool that your family lives in New York, I actually saw you and your kids on TV a few years ago in the audience of an NBC Today Show concert---it was so fun to see you that I Tivo'd it and made Allie walk over to my house and watch it :).
