This was such a great movie. It was a great reminder to cut down on my bag consumption. I don't use grocery bags but I do collect them from others to be used as my garbage bags. We usually use 1 grocery bag every 2 days for trash. I am a bag freak. Cannon teases me that I name my plastic bags. I get super upset when he brings one home from the store :) Here in NYC, they double bag EVERYTHING!! It drives me batty! I also wash out any ziploc bag that crosses my path (I don't buy them, but collect them as they come into my life....and then I name them) That said, I do buy lettuce and other food products in plastic packaging. I take my own produce bags to the store and buy some products in bulk, but I could do better.
I also love how it tackles the chemicals in personal care products. This is something that I feel very strongly about. There are so many natural products to use instead of crap on your body. Oil instead of lotions, natural shampoos (castille soap is great) or homemade soaps. And, my biggest peeve of all is smelly shampoos and lotions for babies. If you know me well you know that I don't shower often and bathe my children even less. Laziness? Perhaps, but why do babies need to be bathed every night? They are so sweet smelling, I mean unless you are putting your nose right up to their bum all the time....
This movie has inspired me to be a better, smarter consumer!
