In November we decided to get in touch with our white trash roots and visit the redneck Mecca: Cabela's. After surviving hurricane Sandy we decided that we were super unprepared and that we should stock up on some survival supplies for the next time. So we took a roadie to PA.
This was spectacularly un-awesome. The guy who started Cabela's was a big game hunter and has all of his "trophies" sniff sniff. Such a waste. I hate hunting.
Just to give you a little bit of perspective of how ginourmous this place is.

haha.. that would be my in-laws favorite place to go (all the cousins, husband, father in law, uncles..) but they are from oregon and are big hunters. They love them some Elk meat to eat.
Just saying; If you hunt correctly, it is about as organic as you can get. Guaranteed your meat will have no crap in it and Elk meat is actually waaay more lean than any other meat out there. And, if you think about it, would you rather support people who raise animals that are miserable all of their life even in their supposed "free-range" crap or an animal who has honestly lived a healthy life. And those animals need to be managed; if they aren't, they will eat all of the forage and then by letting so many live, they would have no food and starve. This has occurred because we have gotten rid of so many of their natural predators. It is now our duty to be their predators. Believe me on this one, Kass. So yes, big-game hunting is stupid and awful, but all hunting? I would have to disagree with you on this one.
