It sounds hard but its really easy. And it really needs to be for me to do it.
Take a chicken carcass that has been picked clean.
Stick it in your crock pot or large pot.
Add an acid like apple cider vinegar, whey or lemon juice.
Add an onion if you like but not necessary.
Add lots and lots of water.
Simmer for up to 24 hours.
Voila!
If the liquid is getting low just add more water.
After its done I use a fat separator and pour it into jars and freeze it. It is free people and sooo healthy. Stock in the store always has "natural flavors" in it which usually means MSG, even the organic/free range stuff. It is so nice to have stock ready for anything I need. One chicken carcass will yield about 8 cups of stock depending on the size. It is so golden in color...I love to see the finished product.
Easy as pie right? Well maybe not pie because making pie is quite difficult and has never ever been done by this lady. Unless it is egg pie which is quite easy. Or if its a pie that uses a store bought crust....
