Beach Day!

We went to Long Beach.....( i am very behind so please don't ask when this was :)

Our pants fell off a little bit in the water, but of course we pulled them up.... sometimes.

As a result we got noticed by the lifeguard. (the first sign on his back said rub me in, which his lifeguard buddies painted on him, then he came and sat smack in front of us. we paid E $2 to do it, which she did. He promptly returned with rub me in more printed, but of course we didn't give him the satisfaction and eventually he went away)

All in all it was a great day and we were exhausted by the end of it.

All American Girl

Let me just preface this post by saying that E got an american girl doll as a gift from a friend 4 years ago. So, we decided to take Sadia to get her hair done one day. We dug around and found some pants, a jacket and one shoe, so she went barefoot with her jacket zipped all the way up to stay modest.

Baby Sadia in a Mei tai on her way to the American Girl Doll store, where very spoiled, very indulged and very rich little girls go to get everything and I mean everything for their doll. Like, you can get a visit (when I say get I mean pay $25)to the hospital and buy a wheelchair and a get well pack. Don't forget your doll's guitar and scooter. And her $20 hairdo. I told E that we could spend $10 on her hairdo, of course there were 2 styles that cost $10, ponytail and half ponytail. Right.

This was our hairstylist. I honestly would feel silly if I had this job. No joke, there was a buckle on the chair for the doll. And they actually buckled it.

Perfection.

E only walked away to check out other stuff once, but in the end she was so happy she could hardly see.

Awww!

How cute is this? I love this kid! He loves to do anything his sister does like bike riding and wrestling. This also includes girly stuff like Hannah Montana, barbies, dressing up (more on that to come)

Date Night

E and I went on a date night in Aug....I am really behind. They have movies on the pier every friday night so we went to see Madagascar 2.

Isn't she such a NY'er? Drinkin her HC on the way to the Village.

We had to wait a while for it to start so we listened to Hannah Montana and HS musical....my faves...!

And this guy was just plain old creepy. Has anyone been to this place on Bleeker? I think its called Eskimix.

I love hanging out with E by herself, she is so fun and acts so grown up. She loves the one on one time and just chatters away!

Reason 8,243 of why I love homebirth: Uninterupted boding time with baby right after birth. Oh and also being tucked into bed to cuddle with baby. Read more about Alicia's birth here.

Oh and in my previous post I forgot to give a shout out to Alicia, my very gracious hostess. We had such a lovely time, there is nothing in the world like a sister. I love you Alicia!!

California

The highlight of my summer was my trip sans kids to So Cal to visit my sister Alicia and be her doula. The plan was to come 3 days before her due date. But baby Micah had different plans. You can read her birth story here

Alicia and Miss Sage, this girl is so sweet and fun and SO happy.

Oh and they do have a husband/father, but I only snapped one of him.

They also have a *small* ant problem, as evidenced by this lasso of ants on the floor. They were so used to them that they hardly noticed the swarms that would gather at dinner time. Boy was I glad to get back home to my ant free apt. Yessir, I am just perfectly happy with my 3 inch brown friends who like to pop in and say hello through the plumbing every now and then.

Since we basically spent everyday at the pool in July here is one last one. Nee Nee and E made a raft out of kickboards, I don't know why I'm so proud but it was really big and it was 2 or 3 boards thick and they figured out how to get it all to stick together and not break apart when they got on it, anyway...enjoy the bum shots :)

Its raining, its pouring....

There is nothing better than a good Va. storm. We all enjoyed playing in the rain and I felt like a kid again!
It was fun watching my kiddies doing what I always did as a kid.
