Lots of reptiles to be seen.

A crepe from the street that was really crispy and yum and of course a coconut. Don't judge I'm pregnant ;)

We stopped off to buy some shells on the roadside in our equivalent of the white trash part of town. The people selling the shells had approximately 12 small dogs, all scratching furiously and these interesting looking critters. When we asked what they were they told us raccoons. The only resemblance that I see is that evil little mouth with all the razor sharp teeth hiding inside. Oh and probably their propensity for eating trash.

Sigh. I really miss this, especially this week when it just won't be spring yet!!

This was the little main street that a lot of the restaurants were on, it was so lovely.

This is Mario. I met Mario when I came scuba diving with my dad here 7 years ago. He is still selling jewelry in the same area. Of course he remembered me, as I am so unforgettable. Or maybe he didn't but I like to think he was just being coy.

This is where we spent our days, snorkeling in this crystal clear water that was only about 4 feet deep at the deepest. (our hotel and the bridge are on the left.)

On the other side of the bridge was this beautiful scene, you could walk out as far as you can see. We had to watch out for small boats so we didn't get runned over.

Please note the purse, I kept telling Can that I would carry it but he just insisted. He said it went with his outfit.

The Cancun airport was just something else all together. This sign was above the fruit below....strange.

Also note the ridonkulous price on this bag of chips. This translates to about 10.50 usd for a normal sized bag of chips. Crazy. Also for sale, viagra, steroids and any other prescription drug that your little heart could desire.

Enjoy some pictures of our lovely trip to Isla Mujeres Meheeco. (And just to clarify, I didn't spell it wrong Alicia, I am writing it how it sounds)

There were LOTS of dogs on the island, we didn't know if they were strays or not, but they seemed like regulars at all of the restaurants. We weren't sure if we should worry about that, you know hygiene and all.

The view from our room. We were hanging over the ocean....it was breathtaking each morning.

Of course we rented a scooter, it was lovely. 'Cept for the sunburned calves...youch!

We decided that this was called a sea cockroach.

After one day in the sun we were pretty red! I wish I had taken one of day two...that was painful!

Gorgeous location for breakfast. This is the southernmost tip of the island with nothing but sea all around.

Our hotel owned this little mini island and you had to cross a rickety bridge to get there. But that didn't stop anyone, cars, trucks. It was definitely sketchy, but gave us some excitement each day :)

There were scooters everywhere! I wish I had taken more pictures of the people riding them. Infants and children hung precariously over the sides bigger toddlers squished between their chubby parents.

Correction

After reading the blog today Elyse informed me that it wasn't Levi who had taken the pictures, but herself. She had put the timer on. Cute but worrisome....the girl loves the limelight.

Takeover

The camera suffered a hostile takeover this week and this is what I found. All taken by Levi.

Snow day!!

We had a snow day on our last big storm. We made the backyard into a sledding hill and the kids had a blast!

They actually got going pretty fast!

Again, playing in our backyard/alleyway is white trash but fun! Note to self, buy snow boots for next winter. My toes were frozen solid in my rain boots.

Firefighters museum

We have a car! We have joined the ranks of the elite of NYC. We love it so much, this was our first outing out of the city. We went a little crazy and drove waaay upstate to the Firefighters museum. We got lost and it took us about 3 hours to get there but it was so nice to get out of the city and the kiddies had fun.

Finally there!

It took so long to get here, this place better be good!

This was a really cool place, they had over 100 different fire trucks and carts from the past 200 plus years.

They played this game for as long as we could stand it but the place was empty so it was all good. (run the "balls"/water to the burning house)

They also learned how to dial 911 and some great fire safety tips from some awesome cartoon trucks and hoses. Anyway, definitely far for this museum but it was so nice to have the freedom to go wherever we wanted!

I found this video tonight of when we told Elyse we were pregnant with Levi. For nine months we thought it was a girl, we had quite the shock when he came out! Excuse the squishy belly scenes and give a girl a break.
