JUST SAY NO!.....to Microwaves

I often get asked a very interesting question when people find out that I don't own a microwave. "Well, then how do you heat up your food?" Then I always joke back that I use this really weird box that has fire inside of it, and I put my food in a thing called a pan and voila.

We got rid of our microwave when we moved here almost 5 years ago. We were too poor and short on space to get another so we did without. My crazy sister and her husband had told us earlier that year that microwaves destroyed the nutrients in your food and emitted radiation. Pshht. Whatever. We continued to use ours until we moved. A few months later we decided that she was right and have never gone back.

People literally think that I am nutso when they hear we don't have one but I have come to accept being different :)
